Biography

2022-23

Won his first OTE Championship with the City Reapers. Amen was named to the All-OTE First Team after leading the City Reapers to the championship. He averaged 16.4 points, 5.9 assists and 5.9 rebounds per game during the regular season while averaging 27.5 minutes per game. In the playoffs, Amen stepped up his game averaging 17.2 points, 9.2 assists per game and 7.2 rebounds per game. The 9.2 assists per game through the playoffs led the league by more than two per game to the second place player. He had three double-doubles in the five games in the playoffs with two of those coming from having 11 assists. He scored in double figures in every game this season and posted over 20 points in five of those through the regular season. He had over five assists and 11 of the 15 regular season games and in all five playoff games. The lowest number of assists Amen had in the playoffs was seven. On the defensive end, Amen had over three steals in nine games this season averaging 2.3 per game. Named OTE Player of the Week once.

2021-22

Amen was one of the best players at OTE in the league's first season scoring in double figures in 22 of 30 games and 20 points in four games. On the defensive end, he had at least one steal in 27 games and a block in 25 games. He had no problem getting his teammates involved either matching the OTE record with 10 assists in a game and had at least one assist in every game this season. Amen played in the The Basketball Tournament (TBT) with Team Overtime and received an invite from Stephen Curry to participate in his elite camp in San Francisco.

Prep

Previously attended Pine Crest School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Thompson was awarded Co-Player of the Year honors with his brother Ausar after taking home the Florida State Championship. In the state championship game, he scored 40 points to lead his team to victory in overtime.

  • Originally from Oakland, California, the Thompson's moved to Florida when they were in 8th grade to play varsity basketball
  • Hobbies include playing video games, listening to music and hanging out with friends
  • Has an older brother they train with that played collegiately at Prairie View A&M the G-League named Troy Thompson Jr.
