Biography
2022-23
Saw action in 10 games this season for the Cold Hearts. Matt averaged 11.3 points per game in the regular season and the playoffs. He averaged 9.1 rebounds per game in the regular season and 8.5 during the playoffs. Bewley had five double-doubles during the regular season. In the playoffs, he helped clinch the series against the Bruins with 15 points and 15 rebounds as well as having five blocks and three steals. His season high for scoring came on opening night with 26 points against the Bruins. Had a month stretch through December where he had three double-doubles in a row. Scored in double figures six times during the season. Finished seventh in the league averaging 9.1 rebounds per game.
2021-22
Matt led all of OTE in rebounding last season and had a season high 17 rebounds in one game. He was effective on the offensive boards as well, collecting one in 28 games and leading the league in ORB% (16.4%) & ORB per 40 minutes (7.0). With his strong play in his first season at OTE, Matt practiced with Team USA for their mini camp in New Orleans during the 2022 Final Four and was invited to the NBPA Camp with his brother, Ryan, and Bryson Warren.
Prep Career
Bewley was the First player to sign with Overtime Elite, along with his brother Ryan. He played for West Oaks Academy (Orlando, Florida) and was ranked the #2 overall ranked player in 247 Sports 2023 recruiting rankings, and #3 by ESPN and Rivals. Matt was the #1 Power Forward in his class by 247 Sports, ESPN and Rivals when he signed with OTE.
