Holy Rams Even Series With YNG Dreamerz

The Holy Rams fended off elimination with an 84-79 victory over the YNG Dreamerz at OTE Arena on Saturday night behind a tough performance after a hard loss last night.

It was a well-balanced effort with five guys in double figures. Mayar Wol led the team with 20 points and Dra Gibbs-Lawhorn had 17 points. In addition to the well-balanced scoring, the Rams outrebounded the Dreamerz 50-41 on the night. Last night, the Dreamerz had a 14-rebound advantage.

The Dreamerz got off to an extremely quick start going up 10-0 in the first four minutes of the game. A night after the Holy Rams played their starters heavy minutes, it was going to be an uphill battle to get back in the game, but the early deficit didn’t phase them at all.

By the end of the first quarter, they were down seven. Early in the second, they went up by six with a 16-3 run. The Rams pushed their lead out to as much as 10 points and outscored the Dreamerz 28-15 in the second.

That lead lasted through the third until the very end. The Dreamerz went on a run to tie the game and Kanaan Carlyle gave them the lead heading into the final frame.

With the scored tied at 72 with two minutes remaining, the Rams scored six straigh and the Dreamerz struggled on offense and at the free throw line. That was all the Rams needed to secure the series tying win.

Jaylen Martin once again was sensational leading the Dreamerz with 24 points. Izan Almansa had a double double with 12 points and 10 rebounds and Bryson Warren had 14 points.

The decisive game three for a spot in the OTE Championship will be Tuesday, February 28 at 7 p.m. on Amazon Prime.
