YNG Dreamerz Earn Spot in OTE Championship Against City Reapers

The YNG Dreamerz got the 96-89 victory over the Holy Rams to win the best-of-three series and claim their spot in the Overtime Elite Championship against the City Reapers.

After building a big lead early, they withstood a furious rally by the Holy Rams to hold on for the seven-point victory.

Izan Almansa played tough all night finishing with 18 points, 12 rebounds and five assists. Jaylen Martin led the team in scoring with 26 points while also collecting 13 rebounds.

The Dreamerz built a 26-point lead in the second quarter but the Holy Rams fought back before the end of the half. From that point, they closed the half on a 20-6 run to get within 12 at the break and keep their chances of advancing alive. The Dreamerz did a good job of keeping the lead at double digits through the second half until the very end.

With a minute to go, Isaiah Coleman hit a three to cut the lead to seven. The Holy Rams would get it all the way down to four points, but just ran out of time. Coleman finished with 28 points and six rebounds on the night playing over 38 minutes. Dra Gibbs-Lawhorn was right behind him with 23 points, six rebounds and six assists.

The loss ended the Holy Rams season, but not after they made waves at OTE in their first year. They finished 8-7 in the regular season to claim the three seed and knocked off every team in the league except the City Reapers.

The Dreamerz now get a shot at the Reapers in the OTE Championship in a best-of-five series that starts this Friday, March 3 on Amazon Prime. The Dreamerz are the one team that knocked off the City Reapers this season.
